OWFI held the 3rd Conference for the Anti-Trafficking Network of Iraqi women, today on the 2nd of March in Baghdad. Tens of Iraqi NGOs participated. Concluding recommendations addressed the responsibility of the government towards the women liberated from ISIS, specifically Yezidi women. Another recommendation was towards the legal status of shelters of women, and the NGOs to run them and monitor the governmental ones if any. 3 veteran human rights lawyers participated, one of whom is an affiliate of the Human Rights Committee of the Iraqi Parliament. An officer from the Ministry of Interior -in charge anti-trafficking department- participated actively in the debates.
